Recently, P S Brown Construction completed fire reinstatement work at Speights Ale House Hamilton.

Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, P S Brown Construction was able to work through the restrictions and supply chain disruptions to ensure that the project progressed as planned. Their commitment to the project was unwavering, and they worked tirelessly to ensure that the work was completed to the highest standards.

One of the key strengths of P S Brown Construction is their wealth of knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. With 35 years of experience working within the insurance business, they were able to exhibit an exceptional understanding of insurance policies and streamlined the rebuild process.

Throughout the project, they demonstrated a great understanding of council regulations and worked diligently to ensure that all necessary permits and approvals were obtained. This allowed the project to progress smoothly and efficiently, ultimately leading to a successful re opening of our business.

As you know, in September 2021 we experienced a disastrous multi-million dollar fire to our business Admark Visual Imaging Limited at our Kahikatea Drive Hamilton factory and offices.

It was, and remains a devastating experience. And it had the potential to ruin our business with the loss of both staff and customers. However, with the support of yourself, our Insurer Vero Insurance, Richard Murphy the Assessor who you appointed, and Peter Brown (P. S. Brown Construction Limited) the builder, here we are a year later without the loss of any valued staff, or our valued customers.

On the day of the fire, Peter Brown arrived on-site within hours of the fire. He immediately took a proactive role in organising the removal of debris, installing temporary security of the damaged doors/windows, and blocking off the fire-damaged area of the factory from the smoke-damaged area. He worked closely with us and the assessor planning the major repairs we needed, and despite being very busy, he seemingly prioritised our needs. His calm, common sense approach, with his friendliness and empathy, was hugely reassuring. And his and his team’s flexibility and willingness to help us at the most trying time in our history was a remarkable testimony to their service.

P. S. Brown Construction were engaged by our insurance company to reinstatement an area of FMG Stadium Waikato which had been involved in an extensive fire. As someone who worked with them on a day-to-day basis, I can attest to their exceptional level of professionalism, timeliness, communication, and high-quality work.

P. S. Brown Construction had to work under a very tight timeframe, they were able to complete the job with efficiency and precision thus enduring the fire-damaged area could be used for hospitality at the World Sevens Tournament and the FIFA Women’s World Cup playoff tournament.

After experiencing a devastating house fire which was started by a faulty dishwasher. We were daunted and upset at the rebuild and clean-up process as we are in our late 80’s.

After engaging the services of P. S. Brown Construction the procedure became less of a challenge due to their knowledge, experience and compassion. 

It was only two weeks out from Christmas and at the time when materials were scarce. With their great communication and well-organised sub-contractors, the job was done without fuss and in a short time period.

With Peter’s 30+ years of knowledge and experience in the building trade, and of the insurance and council processes, it took the extra stress off us. Peter’s team of experienced tradesmen at PSBC are quick and efficient at what they do. On our rebuild they also used some subcontractors to complete the work, as all the inside of our home had to be removed back to the studs. The laundry and our son’s room were completely rebuilt as were the garage and carport.

With materials in short supply in the beginning, from the Covid-19 pandemic, it was a bit of a slow start, but we are now very grateful to be back in our home.

We recently had the misfortune to have a fire in a rental property – thankfully, no-one was in the place at the time. There was significant fire and smoke damage throughout the house, which resulted in a total internal rebuild.

After notifying the Insurance Company, their Assessor met both Peter and Robert on site, the day after the fire, to assist in the evaluation of the extent of the fire damage. They have a wealth of Industry knowledge and a good background knowledge of the Insurance process.

PS Brown offers a complete repair package, from strip-out to a new fit-out and their workmanship was to a high standard. They have a great relationship with their Sub-trades and the team were all very helpful and accommodating with our décor requests and any queries we had, along the way.

After Council delays with a consent process, the team were promptly back on the job and worked with great effort to complete the project in a timely manner.

We appreciate the effort and knowledge that the PS Brown team have put into this project.

Being a client living in another city, I found that the level of communication was great with me to ensure that I was informed about necessary decisions and inputs I needed to make along the journey of the build.

There were no surprises and Steve was happy to answer questions I had along the way and to give me confidence in their work. With the additional changes I made to the rebuild, I found that they were very fair and reasonable with the accommodation and pricing of these requests.

We had the misfortune of having a major fire in our newly purchased rental property at 3/13 Northridge Drive, Hamilton in January 2023. We were and still are, residing in the US, so this was a major setback for us.

Sedgwick were appointed by our insurer IAG New Zealand, and it was Karina Reed who managed the claim for us. She did this in a very professional manner and we are incredibly grateful to her for that.

Karina then appointed P S Brown Construction Ltd to carry out the urgent make-safe and arrange quotes to rebuild the house to its original state.

Steven Harvey was the Project Manager appointed by P S Brown Construction and he did an excellent job with keeping us fully informed of all requirements and the progress throughout the entire project.

Steven met onsite several times with our father/father-in-law who was helping us through the process due to ourselves being unavailable with living overseas. The project progressed well and the rebuild was finished ahead of time.

We would like to thank everyone who was involved and would highly recommend all those who helped get our house rebuilt.
